In 2018, AREVA's nuclear fuel cycle activities were transferred to a new entity called Framatome, which is a joint venture between AREVA NP (AREVA's nuclear power business) and EDF (Électricité de France). This initiative aimed to strengthen the competitiveness and global presence of AREVA's nuclear fuel cycle operations.
